Each year, as the Cannes Film Festival draws to a close, the grand Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc becomes the setting for the amfAR gala, a distinguished event that raises substantial funds for biomedical research while serving as an extravagant, fashion-forward celebration.
The 31st edition, held this past Thursday, featured captivating performances by Ciara, Adam Lambert, and the iconic band Duran Duran.
During the breezy cocktail hour in the coastal town of Antibes, overlooking the expansive blue waters of the French Riviera, Oscar-nominated actor Colman Domingo appeared in a bespoke Valentino suit paired with Boucheron jewelry, describing his look as that of a “peacock.” He reflected on the surreal atmosphere of the evening.
“The extravagance of expression here is remarkable,” he noted. “All of this grandeur is aimed at drawing attention to HIV and AIDS research.”
