The Tribeca Festival is renowned for its star-studded atmosphere, drawing actors, directors, musicians, and artists to red carpet events where they premiere their latest projects.

Beyond the glitz, the festival is deeply committed to nurturing emerging talent through its artist development initiatives, as emphasized by Jane Rosenthal, the festival’s chief executive and co-founder alongside Robert De Niro and Craig Hatkoff.

Rosenthal explained, “The heart of the festival lies in discovery, and our development programs play a crucial role in this mission. We continually seek fresh voices and innovative storytelling, especially since opportunities for aspiring filmmakers remain scarce.”

Since 2015, the festival has offered eight distinct programs that provide full funding and support to producers, directors, writers, and other creatives working on their film projects.

These initiatives have awarded nearly $2 million annually, aiding more than a thousand filmmakers. High-profile mentors and judges, including prominent figures from the entertainment world, have contributed their support to uplift these emerging artists. Rosenthal noted, “Every filmmaker benefits from having advocates, and established celebrities help elevate new talents through their mentorship and encouragement.”
