Instagram has increasingly become a surprising but effective platform for celebrities seeking romance, with numerous well-known couples attributing their relationships to conversations initiated through the app’s private messaging feature.
In one notable case, country singer Kelsea Ballerini sent a direct message to actor Chase Stokes in December 2022 at 1:07 a.m., simply writing, “hiii chase stokes.” The actor replied a little over two hours later with, “Hey there how u doin.” The couple has been together for over two years since then.
NBA player Kyle Kuzma reached out to model Winnie Harlow on Instagram in 2019 and followed up in the spring of 2020. Although she missed his initial message, she responded to the second one, and the pair became engaged in December.
Actress Vanessa Hudgens connected with former baseball player Cole Tucker after noticing him in a virtual meditation session led by Jay Shetty. Sharing the story on a talk show, she recalled, “I got on Zoom and thought, ‘Who is that?’ If I want something or someone, I go for it.” She slid into his DMs with a friendly greeting, and the couple wed in November 2023.
