Tony Hinchcliffe, known for his stand-up comedy, drew attention last fall after delivering a contentious routine about Puerto Rico during a Trump campaign rally in New York.
Despite the backlash, Hinchcliffe secured a Netflix contract in March for three specials centered on his long-running live comedy podcast, 'Kill Tony.' The show ranks modestly on traditional platforms, positioned at No. 51 on Spotify and No. 178 on Apple Podcasts’ U.S. charts, which measure popularity through a mix of streams, downloads, and subscriber metrics.
However, YouTube’s newly released podcast ranking, unveiled this past Thursday, offers fresh insight into Hinchcliffe’s broader audience reach. For the first time, the platform has published its list of the top podcasts in the United States based on total watch time.
In this ranking, 'Kill Tony' holds the impressive No. 2 spot, just behind the undisputed leader of the podcast world, Joe Rogan.
Significantly, YouTube’s list differs from Spotify and Apple’s charts in that several widely popular and established podcasts are absent. Notable omissions from YouTube’s top 100 include 'Call Her Daddy,' 'Crime Junkie,' 'SmartLess,' 'The Daily,' and 'New Heights,' all of which frequently appear in the Top 10 of other rankings.
Familiar figures like MeidasTouch, Shannon Sharpe, and Theo Von make the Top 10 on YouTube. Yet the lineup sometimes feels unconventional compared to other charts. For example, while 'Dateline NBC' does not appear—likely because it rarely uploads episodes on YouTube—the CBS true crime show '48 Hours' surprisingly ranks fourth.
