On Monday, two Israeli airstrikes struck a hospital in southern Gaza, resulting in the deaths of four Palestinian journalists, a rescue worker, and several other individuals, local authorities reported.
The Gaza Health Ministry initially reported eight fatalities and numerous injuries. The four journalists who lost their lives were affiliated with various international media organizations, according to local reporters.
The Israeli military confirmed conducting an airstrike near Nasser Hospital but did not specify the intended target. The military expressed regret for any harm caused to civilians and announced that its chief of staff has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
Since the outbreak of the conflict nearly two years ago, Gaza has become one of the most perilous zones for journalists, with at least 192 killed during this period. These losses have sparked widespread condemnation internationally.
Throughout the conflict, the Israeli government has restricted international journalists from entering Gaza without official escorts.
